West Stadil & Stadil Fjord

Distance: 7.95 Km

By the fjords you can experience the large, open West Jutland landscape with its absolutely fantastic bird life. Spring and autumn are tens of thousands of geese and ducks resting on migrations. In the summer, the rare pipe hawk hovers low over the roof pipes, and on quiet summer evenings you can, as one of the few places in Denmark, hear the pipe drum's strange "timpani", which sounds like blowing in a bottle.

Vest Stadil Fjord was formerly a large grain field. Now nature has been recreated as vast meadows and reed forests. There is a cycle / hiking trail between the fjords, and it is thus possible to cycle from Ringkøbing to Vedersø without having to go out on busy roads. Visit Bjerg Thomsen's cabin and the bird tower by Vest Stadil Fjord. The area's beautiful churches are also worth a visit.
