Ringkøbing Fjord

Distance: 11.18 Km

Ringkøbing Fjord is with its approx. 300 km2 the largest of the West Jutland fjords. We also think it is the most beautiful... The fjord is a shallow brackish water fjord, which is surrounded by large salt marshes, especially at Tipperne and Værnengene.

The fjord has always been the basis of life for birds, fish and people - it still contains some of Denmark's most important bird locations. That is why there are also large parts of the areas around the fjord which are nature reserves. Fishing in the fjord has been the source of income for many families since time immemorial, but it is no longer so. However, there are still many recreational fishermen who fish in the beautiful nature that surrounds the fjord.
