Distance: 20.80 Km

Pallisbjerg, (1545 Padbierg, 'paddebjerg'), is a former main farm near Staby by Nissum Fjord.

The place is probably named after county judge Palle Juel, who in 1560 acquired the farm Padbjerg from the crown, which he made the core of a collection of estates. His family and other noble families owned the place until 1692, when it was bought by the enterprising merchant Christen Linde (1626-1708) from Holstebro.

The last gentleman at Pallisbjerg was credit union director, court hunter master Christian Benzon Hoppe, who bought it in 1872 and built the current main building in 1898 designed by professor HC Amberg. The main building was to be completed for his and Baroness Juliane Cathrine Wilhelmine Wedel-Jarlsberg's silver wedding, but unfortunately she died before the building was finished.

In 1914, his heirs sold to the merchant PC Rørsgaard from Vemb, who sold to the state in 1940. Until 1991, the place was used for, among other things, boarding school and orphanage. At one point, the City of Copenhagen took it over to an orphanage, which breached it so that in the late eighties they got a demolition permit for the manor, but fortunately Ib Gregersen bought it and completely renovated it together with Peter Johansen from 1997 to 2000.

Today, the main building is mostly rented out for meetings and conferences.

Our holiday apartments for 18 and 36 people, are perfect for weekend stays and holidays. They can also be rented for overnight stays in connection with other events on site.

Every year - on the 1st Saturday in August, a large summer fair is held in Pallisbjerg Manor's buildings and on the lawn, where exhibitors and the public are most welcome.
