Ringkøbing is an old commercial and maritime town with a history dating back to the mid-1200s. The town still has an intimate and cozy atmosphere, and in the city center are beautiful old houses next to narrow, cobbled streets.

Hotel Ringkjøbing, which was built approx. year 1600, is the town's oldest house, except for the church. Købmandsgården was for many years the city's largest grocery farm with buildings all the way up Vestergade. Throughout the 1700th century and until 1805, it was owned by shifting county administrators who had large granaries in the farm. The northern half of the farm complex was sold in 1806.

Since 1833 there has been a guest house and hotel, which means that Hotel Ringkjøbing is one of the country's oldest hotels.

In 1817 the northern part was demolished and the present "Borgmestergaard" was built. Borgmestergaarden is a large foundation-walled building in a, for Ringkøbing, unusual empire style. The building was named Borgmestergaarden because several town bailiffs and mayors have lived here over time.

The former owners of Hotel Ringkjøbing bought Borgmestergaarden in 2003, so after approx. For 200 years, the two distinctive buildings on the square in Ringkjøbing have thus again got the same owners.

Hotel Ringkjøbing has 59 atmospheric rooms, all of which have been lovingly renovated. Our suite with a view of the square is especially highlighted. The suite is furnished with luxury furniture and fabrics, and there is a spa bath in the bathroom.

At Hotel Ringkjøbing many parties are held every year. We have 4 banqueting rooms for 25 to 100 people.

We also arrange smaller courses and day meetings, as well as deliver food out of the house for all kinds of gatherings.

We arrange approx. 20 music events in the square in front of the hotel, please see our event calendar for these events.

Smaller pets are welcome at the hotel - however for a small fee.
